How to determine the height of the pole required. It is best to use a right size flag that fits the height of your pole properly. For example, if you are using a 90cm x 60cm flag (perfect for higher winds), the height of your flagpole should be a minimum of 5m tall. If you are using a 180cm x 120cm size of flag, the height of your pole should be a minimum of 6m tall. A 9m or 12m tall pole should be used for the ceremonial size of 270cm x 180cm. It is always best to use the proper size flag so that undue stress is not put on the poles when the wind speed is high.
