Aruba Flag

Description

The Aruba flag is available from Flags Online in full-size and desk formats, printed on both sides and made to last outdoors.

Aruba Flag

The flag of Aruba features a striking larkspur blue field with two narrow horizontal yellow stripes running across the lower half and a four-pointed red star outlined in white in the upper left corner. Each element of the Aruba flag carries deep meaning — from the blue ocean surrounding the island to the red star pointing to all four corners of the compass.

Our Aruba flags are made from strong, weather-resistant 100% polyester bunting, designed to hold up well in a variety of outdoor conditions. Each flag comes fitted with rope and toggle, making it ready for hoisting the moment it arrives. Available in two sizes: 90 x 60cm and 180 x 120cm

About the Aruba Flag

The national flag of Aruba was officially adopted on 18 March 1976 — a date now celebrated annually as National Anthem and Flag Day. The flag was partially designed by renowned vexillologist Whitney Smith and has a proportion of 2:3.

Every colour and symbol on the Aruban flag tells part of the island's story:

Larkspur Blue — Represents the Caribbean Sea surrounding the island, symbolising Aruba's deep connection to the ocean.

Yellow Stripes — Signify abundance, solidarity, and economic prosperity. They recall Aruba's history of gold mining, Aloe Vera production, and its modern tourism industry. The yellow also represents the vibrant local flora, including the iconic Kibrahacha tree. The stripes further symbolise Aruba's freedom and distinct autonomous status within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, achieved on 1 January 1986.

Red Four-Pointed Star — Represents the four points of the compass, reflecting the diverse origins of the Aruban population. The red colour symbolises love for the homeland and pays tribute to the indigenous Arubans who lost their lives at the historic Battle of Frenchman's Pass.

White Border (Fimbriation) — Symbolises peace, the island's pristine white sand beaches, and the purity of the Aruban people who strive for justice, order, and liberty.

Aruba is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, located in the southern Caribbean Sea. Often called "One Happy Island, " it gained its autonomous status (Status Aparte) on 1 January 1986 — a milestone reflected in its flag's design.

Ordering and Delivery

Every Aruba flag is printed to order and dispatched from our Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and Johannesburg branches, with courier delivery nationwide. Bulk and school orders are welcome — contact us for volume pricing on quantities of 10 or more.

Order Lead Times

Almost everything we make is freshly printed and made to order, just for you! So please allow 3–5 working days for us to prepare your order before it heads out the door. We’ll always try to get it to you sooner where we can. Some fast movers, like South African flags, ship quicker as they’re often in stock.

One quick thing to keep in mind: the “next working day” you see on your order confirmation is the courier’s delivery time from the day we dispatch — not from the day you place your order. So it’s really 3–5 days to prepare + next-day delivery.

Good things are worth the wait — we’re excited to get your order into your hands.
